Mattie Hunter is an American politician and a dedicated member of the Democratic Party. Since 2003, she has served as the State Senator for Illinois' 3rd district. Hunter holds influential roles as the Senate Secretary for the Illinois Legislative Black Caucus and the Senate Majority Caucus Whip. Additionally, she is the 20th Ward Democratic Committeewoman. Her academic credentials include a Master's degree in Sociology from Jackson State University and a Bachelor's degree in Government from Monmouth College. Prior to her tenure in the Senate, she was the Vice President at Human Resources Development Institute Inc. Hunter's extensive experience and leadership continue to shape her contributions to Illinois politics.
