Marla Jo Luckert is an American judge and the current Chief Justice of the Kansas Supreme Court. She was appointed by Governor Bill Graves on November 20, 2002, and officially took office on January 13, 2003. Luckert has an extensive legal background, having practiced general law at Goodell, Stratton, Edmonds & Palmer and served as a District Judge in the Kansas 3rd Judicial District Court. She holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor's degree in History from Washburn University. Luckert completed her early education at Goodland High School. Her career is marked by a commitment to justice and a deep understanding of the law, making her a respected figure in the Kansas judicial system.
