Marilyn Strickland is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Washington's 10th congressional district, a position she has held since 2021. Her district covers the state capital, Olympia, and parts of eastern Tacoma. A member of the Democratic Party, Strickland has a distinguished political career, including serving as the Mayor of Tacoma, Washington, from 2010 to 2018. She also led as President and CEO of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. Strickland brings a robust academic background to her role, holding an MBA from Clark-Atlanta University and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Washington. She continues to contribute significantly to her community through her leadership and commitment to public service.
