Mariannette Jane Miller-Meeks is an American physician and politician, serving as a U.S. Representative from Iowa since 2021. A member of the Republican Party, she represents Iowa's 1st Congressional District, previously the 2nd District, covering much of Iowa's southeastern region, including cities like Davenport, Bettendorf, Burlington, and Iowa City. Before her tenure in Congress, she served as an Iowa State Senator from the 41st District from 2019 to 2021. Miller-Meeks has an extensive educational background, holding a Bachelor's in Nursing from Texas Christian University, an MD and a Licensure in General Surgery from the University of Texas-San Antonio, a Licensure in Fellowship-Glaucoma from the University of Michigan, and a Master's in Education from the University of Southern California. Her career includes roles such as Director at the Iowa Department of Public Health, Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Iowa and the University of Michigan, and various medical positions with the U.S. Army Reserves.
