Lee Shurtleff is a prominent figure in Tompkins County, New York, serving as the legislator for District 9, which includes all of Groton and parts of Lansing and Dryden. He graduated from Groton Central School and later earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from SUNY Cortland in 1987. Additionally, he obtained an Associate's degree from the Simmons Institute of Funeral Service in 1994. Elected to the Tompkins County Legislature in November 2021, representing District 9. His father, Phil Shurtleff, previously held this seat from 1981 to 1992.
