Joe Campbell, also known as Joseph Patrick Campbell, had a multifaceted career spanning sports, education, and politics. Born in Delaware, Campbell was an accomplished American football player, serving as a defensive end in the NFL from 1977 to 1981, playing for the New Orleans Saints, Oakland Raiders, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His collegiate football career was with the Maryland Terrapins. In recognition of his sports achievements, he was inducted into the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame in 1992.Beyond athletics, Campbell pursued academic endeavors, earning a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture from the University of Georgia.
