Jose Antonio Menendez is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Texas Senate for District 26. A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, Menendez has a long history of public service, including his tenure as a member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 124 from 2001 to 2015. Born and raised in San Antonio, he graduated from Central Catholic High School and earned a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University. Before his political career, Menendez worked in business development, notably as a Vice President and Business Development Officer at Stewart Title. He won a special election in 2015 to succeed Leticia Van de Putte in the state Senate, defeating fellow Democrat Trey Martinez Fischer. His career reflects a commitment to serving the community of San Antonio and the broader Texas region.
