John Kasich is an experienced American politician and author who served as the Governor of Ohio from 2011 to 2019. Prior to being a governor, he served for 18 years as a U.S Representative for the state's 12th congressional district, during which he notably served as the Chairman of the House Budget Committee. A member of the Republican Party, he was also a presidential candidate in the 2000 and 2016 U.S elections. Beyond politics, Kasich also held stints as an investment banker and a television news host. He is known for his moderate conservative views, focusing on balanced budgets and economic prosperity.
