Joseph David Courtney is a seasoned American lawyer and politician, serving as the U.S. Representative for Connecticut's 2nd congressional district since 2007. A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, Courtney's district covers much of eastern Connecticut, including cities like Norwich and New London. He began his political career as a Connecticut state representative for the 56th district, holding office from 1987 to 1995. Subsequently, he served as the Vernon town attorney from 2003 to 2006.
