Jeanne Shaheen is a prominent American politician of Democratic party serving as the Senior United States Senator from New Hampshire since 2009. Born on January 28, 1947, in St. Charles, Missouri, Shaheen built her career in politics over several decades, serving as the Governor of New Hampshire from 1997 to 2003 before stepping into her role as senator. She has been well-recognized for her work on projects related to environment, health care and national security. Shaheen is also the first woman in U.S. history to be elected both a Governor and a U.S. Senator.
