James Austin Scott is an American politician and business executive serving as the U.S. Representative for Georgia's 8th congressional district since 2011. The district extends from just outside Macon to the Florida border. Scott is a member of the Republican Party and previously served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1997 to 2010. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia.
