Jack Whitver is an American politician and businessman, currently serving as the Iowa State Senator for the 23rd District. A member of the Republican Party, he has been a significant figure in Iowa politics, holding his Senate seat since 2011. From 2011 to 2013, he represented the 19th District before transitioning to the 23rd District. Since 2018, Whitver has been the Senate Majority Leader, where he has played a pivotal role in shaping legislative priorities. Prior to his political career, he was an American football player. Whitver holds a Bachelor's degree from Iowa State University and a Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School. He has also worked as an attorney at Whitaker, Hagenow, and Gustoff Law Firm in Des Moines.
