The Honorable Senado de la Nación Argentina, also known as the Argentine Senate, is the upper house of the National Congress of Argentina. It is constituted by three representatives from each of the country's provinces and the autonomous city of Buenos Aires, totaling 72 senators. Its role is to represent the interests of each region, providing a balance to the lower house which represents the country's population as a whole. The Senate is responsible for approving laws initiated by the lower house, amending them if necessary, and also holds the authority to initiate legislation on certain issues such as foreign policy and constitutional amendments.
