Henry Cuellar is an American attorney and politician, born in 1955, who has dedicated his career to public service. He has been serving as the U.S. Representative for Texas's 28th congressional district since 2005, representing a district that stretches from the Rio Grande to the suburbs of San Antonio. Cuellar, a member of the Democratic Party, has held numerous roles throughout his political career, including as a member of the Texas House of Representatives from 1987 to 2001 and as Secretary of State of Texas in 2001. Cuellar's academic accomplishments include a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas, a Bachelor's in Government from the University of Texas, a Master's in International Trade from Texas A&M International University, an Associate's from Laredo Community College, and a Certificate in Budget and Finance from Georgetown University. Beyond politics, he has served as an adjunct professor at Texas A&M International University.
