Greg Reed is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. He has served as a member of the Alabama Senate, representing the 5th District from 2010 to 2024. Reed first won his seat by defeating Democrat Brett Wadsworth in the 2010 midterm elections, succeeding Charles Bishop. During his tenure, he was appointed as the president pro tempore of the Alabama State Senate, a position he held from 2021 until he stepped down in December 2024 to become Senior Advisor to Workforce Transformation under Governor Kay Ivey. Reed's educational background includes an Associate's degree from Walker College (Bevill State Community College) and a Bachelor's degree in Business and Marketing from the University of Alabama. His professional experience includes roles at General Electric Healthcare, National Cash Register, and as Vice President at Preferred Medical Systems.
