Gobierno Uruguayo

The Gobierno Uruguayo, or the Uruguayan Government, operates as a democratic republic with a system of checks and balances, divided into three branches: the executive, legislative, and judicial. The president, who serves as both the head of state and the head of government, is elected through popular vote and leads the executive branch. The legislative power is vested in the General Assembly which consists of two chambers. Meanwhile, the judicial branch is independent of the other two. Uruguay is well-known for its high level of political stability, liberal social policies, and strong rule of law.
