Fani Taifa Willis is an American attorney and the current District Attorney of Fulton County, Georgia, a position she has held since 2021. She is notably the first woman to serve in this role. Born in 1971, Willis is a member of the Democratic Party. She gained national attention for her investigation into the 2020 presidential election in Georgia, leading to indictments against Donald Trump and 18 others for racketeering and other crimes. Willis also led a significant case against rapper Young Thug and associates under Georgia's RICO Act. Her educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Howard University and a JD from Emory University. Her career includes roles such as Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney and Chief Magistrate Judge.
