Erin O'Toole is a Canadian lawyer and politician who served as the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and Leader of the Official Opposition from August 2020 to September 2021. Born in Montreal, Quebec, O'Toole graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada in 1995 and served in the Canadian Forces Air Command until 2000. After this, he studied law at Dalhousie University and embarked on a legal career before entering politics. Notable for his advocacy for veterans' rights, O'Toole represented the Ontario riding of Durham in the House of Commons beginning in 2012, later held several roles in the Harper government, including Minister of Veterans Affairs.
