Erin Mendenhall is an American politician and activist who has served as the mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah, since 2020. As the 36th mayor, she is the city’s third and youngest woman to hold this position. Before becoming mayor, Mendenhall represented Salt Lake City’s 5th district on the City Council. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Mendenhall earned a Bachelor's degree in Gender Studies and a Master's degree in Science and Technology, both from the University of Utah. Her career has included roles as a Councilmember on the Salt Lake City Council, Policy Director at Breathe Utah, and working in Quality Assurance at Sterigenics. Mendenhall is known for her commitment to environmental issues and community advocacy.
