Emily Alvarado is an American politician and elected official serving in the Washington House of Representatives for District 34, Position 1, since January 9, 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, she has a strong advocacy background in affordable housing. Emily earned her Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Scripps College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law.Before her election, she held various roles, including Director of the Seattle Office of Housing and Vice President at Enterprise Community Partners. Emily focuses on creating equitable housing policies, reducing homelessness, and enhancing community development. Growing up in a family of educators, she is committed to social justice and public service, living in West Seattle with her family.
