Elen Asatryan is an Armenian-American politician who has made history as the first Armenian-American female Mayor of Glendale, California. She was appointed to this position in April 2024, succeeding Mayor Dan Brotman. Asatryan's political career began at a young age, and she has been involved in various community and advocacy roles throughout her life. Born in 1983, Asatryan moved to Glendale with her family at the age of 10. She attended local schools, including Herbert Hoover High School, and later graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a degree in Political Science, focusing on American Politics and International Relations.
