Ekrem İmamoğlu

Ekrem İmamoğlu is a prominent Turkish politician serving as the Mayor of Istanbul since 2019. Representing the Republican People's Party (CHP), he gained international attention following his involvement in the 2019 Istanbul mayoral re-run elections, in which he emerged victorious against the ruling AKP candidate in a significant political upset. With a background in business, İmamoğlu holds a master’s degree in human resources management from Istanbul University. He is known for his approach towards transparent governance, inclusive social policies, and for promoting a united Istanbul that transcends political divisions.
