Dusty Gates is a seasoned law enforcement professional with a solid educational background and extensive experience in public safety. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Northeast Louisiana University after completing his high school education at Farmerville High School. Gates began his career as a Patrolman at the Farmerville Police Department, where he gained valuable on-the-ground experience. He then served as Chief Deputy at the Union Parish Sheriff's Office, eventually stepping into the role of Interim Sheriff. His leadership was further recognized when he became the Sheriff at the Union Parish Sheriff's Office. Gates' career also includes roles with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office and the Louisiana State Police, showcasing his dedication to law enforcement and community service.
