Deputados Federais e Senadores are key figures in the Brazilian legislative system. The Deputados Federais, or Federal Deputies, are members of the Brazilian Congress' lower house, the Chamber of Deputies, representing the populace at the federal level. They are pivotal in the creation and approval of Brazilian laws. On the other hand, the Senadores, or Senators, belong to the upper house, the Federal Senate, and represent Brazil's 26 states and the federal district. They also play a crucial role in the legislative process, scrutinizing and ratifying laws that have been passed by the Chamber of Deputies. The collective functioning of these two groups ascertain the democratic functioning of Brazil’s federal legislature.
