The Defence Minister of India is a top-ranking government official responsible for managing the entire defence layout of the country. Their duties involve coordinating the actions of the Indian Armed Forces and shaping national security policies. This role liaises with the President of India and the Prime Minister, also working closely with the National Security Advisor. The position includes overseeing defence diplomacy on behalf of India, defending the country's sovereign integrity, and handling the border disputes. The Defence Minister also holds regular consultations with the Chiefs of Staff of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
