Darrell Edward Issa is a seasoned American politician, inventor, and entrepreneur, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for California's 48th congressional district. A member of the Republican Party, Issa has a long history of public service, previously representing the 50th congressional district from 2021 to 2023, and serving in the United States House of Representatives from 2001 to 2019. He represented the 48th district for one term and the 49th district for eight terms, focusing on the San Diego area. From 2011 to 2015, Issa chaired the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Before his political career, Issa was the founder and CEO of Directed Electronics and served as an Army officer. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business from Siena Heights University.
