Daniel Milton Newhouse is an American politician and agricultural scientist, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Washington's 4th congressional district, a position he has held since 2015. Born into a farming family, Newhouse brings extensive experience in both politics and agriculture to his role. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics from Washington State University. Before his tenure in Congress, he served as the Director of the Washington State Department of Agriculture from 2009 to 2013. Previously, he was a member of the Washington House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. As a Republican, Newhouse's district encompasses much of the central third of Washington State, including Yakima and the Tri-Cities, where he actively represents the agricultural community.
