Dan Kildee is an American politician and member of the Democratic Party who has served in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Michigan's 5th congressional district, since 2013. Before his congressional service, Kildee co-founded and served as the president of the Center for Community Progress, a national nonprofit organization focusing on urban land reforms. He's also known for his role as Genesee County Treasurer and for creating the Genesee Land Bank, a first of its kind in the nation. Kildee’s political career has been marked by his focus on issues such as clean water, affordable health care, and economic fairness.
