Cleo Fields is an American attorney and seasoned politician, currently serving as a state senator for Louisiana's 14th State Senate district. A member of the Democratic Party, Fields has had a distinguished career in public service, including representing Louisiana's 4th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 1993 to 1997. He has also served multiple terms in the Louisiana State Senate, first from 1986 to 1992, again from 1997 to 2008, and resuming in 2020. Fields pursued higher education at Southern University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications followed by a Juris Doctor. In addition to his legislative roles, he is an entrepreneur and practices law at The Fields Law Firm. Fields also made a gubernatorial bid in 1995.
