Cindy Ryu is an American politician serving as a member of the Washington House of Representatives from the 32nd district since 2011. A trailblazer, she was the first Korean-American woman to serve as a mayor in the United States, holding the position in Shoreline City. As a member of the Democratic Party, Ryu is the Chair of the Innovation, Community & Economic Development, and Veterans Committee. Her legislative efforts focus on broadband deployment, consumer protection, increasing housing supply, and strengthening the resilience of small businesses and communities. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and an MBA in Operations Management, both from the University of Washington. Ryu is dedicated to advancing the interests of her constituents and fostering economic growth and community resilience.
