Catherine Marie Cortez Masto is an American lawyer and politician serving as the senior United States Senator from Nevada, a position she has held since 2017. Born in 1964, she is a member of the Democratic Party. Cortez Masto previously served as the 32nd Attorney General of Nevada from 2007 to 2015, where she was known for her focus on consumer protection, privacy rights, and senior citizens. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University School of Law. Before her tenure as Attorney General, she worked as an Assistant County Manager for Clark County, Nevada. Her extensive career in public service reflects her dedication to her constituents and the state of Nevada.
