Bob Ferguson is an American politician, lawyer, and chess player who has made significant contributions to public service in Washington state. Born and raised in Seattle, Ferguson graduated from Bishop Blanchet High School. He then earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Washington and a Juris Doctor from New York University. He has served as the 18th Attorney General of Washington since 2013 and is the governor-elect of Washington, representing the Democratic Party. Ferguson's political career includes serving on the King County Council from 2004 to 2013, where he was chair from 2009 to 2013. His legal experience includes clerking for federal judges and working as a litigator at Preston, Gates, and Ellis.
