Residents of Upland are deeply concerned about the ongoing safety risks at the intersection of 13th Street and Euclid Avenue. This area has been plagued by numerous vehicle and motorcycle collisions, some resulting in severe injuries and tragic fatalities that have left our community in mourning. These accidents have brought heartbreak to families and instilled a persistent fear in the hearts of those who frequent this intersection in their daily commutes.

We vividly recall every incident that claimed lives and reminded us all of the urgent need for change. The inadequate safety measures currently in place fail to protect residents, and with each passing day, the risk of another accident looms large over our community.

In light of these repeated tragedies, we urgently call upon the City of Upland to conduct a comprehensive traffic safety and engineering study. This study should assess the need for critical improvements such as a traffic signal, stop sign, or other speed-reduction measures designed to safeguard both drivers and pedestrians. Improved crossings are essential to ensure the safety of all residents, including children who traverse this area.

Implementing these measures is not just a proactive approach; it is a necessary intervention to prevent future loss of life and alleviate the fear that currently grips our community. Neighboring areas have successfully reduced accidents by implementing similar measures, resulting in fewer injuries and greatly enhanced safety for all road users.

We ask that our local government treats this issue with the urgency it deserves. Let us invest resources wisely to protect our community, showing that Upland values the lives and well-being of its residents above all else. By supporting this petition, you stand with us in demanding swift action to prevent more senseless tragedies at 13th and Euclid.

Please join us and sign this petition to urge the City of Upland to prioritize public safety and bring an end to the relentless cycle of accidents at this dangerous intersection.
