Bill Cassidy is an American physician and politician serving as the senior United States Senator from Louisiana, a position he has held since 2015. A member of the Republican Party, Cassidy previously served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2008 to 2015. As a senator, Bill Cassidy has worked on healthcare measures, sponsoring multiple bills that received bipartisan support. Before his political career, he co-founded the Greater Baton Rouge Community Clinic, which provides free dental and healthcare to the working uninsured and co-founded a private/public partnership to vaccinate 36,000 Greater Baton Rouge area children against Hepatitis B at no cost to the schools or parents.
