Bien Doan He currently serves as a City Councilmember for San Jose, California, representing District 7. Doan was elected in November 2022, defeating the incumbent councilmember with 54% of the vote. His priorities include addressing homelessness, promoting environmental equity, improving city infrastructure, and supporting public safety workers. Before his political career, he was the first Vietnamese-American fire captain in the San Jose Fire Department and is also a co-founder of the Vietnamese American City Employees organization
