Betty Louise McCollum is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for Minnesota's 4th congressional district since 2001. A member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, McCollum's district is centered around St. Paul, Minnesota. She is notable for being the second woman elected to Congress from Minnesota and became the dean of Minnesota's congressional delegation in 2021. McCollum previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1992 to 2001. Her diverse career includes roles such as a high school science teacher, a member of the North St. Paul City Council, and involvement in sales and management in the retail sector. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from St. Catherine University. Betty McCollum has been a dedicated public servant throughout her long tenure in office.
