Attilio Fontana is an Italian politician serving as the President of Lombardy since 2018. Born in 1952 in Busto Arsizio, Lombardy, he has held several significant roles in his political career which include Mayor of Varese and a member of the Chamber of Deputies. Fontana is affiliated with the right-wing party Lega Nord and has been part of legislative initiatives, particularly emphasising issues of regional autonomy and immigration control. Known for his conservative stance, Fontana's leadership has been influential within Lombardy, the wealthiest and most populous region in Italy.
