Anayasa Mahkemesi

Anayasa Mahkemesi, also known as the Constitutional Court, is the highest legal body in Turkey. Established in 1961, it carries significant responsibility for the constitutional review and evaluation of laws with respect to the constitution. It handles several issues including individual complaints concerning the violation of fundamental rights and freedoms. The Constitutional Court plays a critical role in the execution and protection of constitutional norms and principles, enforcing the supremacy of the Turkish Constitution in the legal system and ensuring the functions of both division of powers and checks and balances.
