Amtrak is the national passenger rail service in the United States, officially known as the National Railroad Passenger Corporation. Founded in 1971, it offers medium and long-distance travel, with routes connecting more than 500 destinations in 46 states and three Canadian provinces. Their fleet includes more than 300 trains which operate over 21,300 miles of track.
