American Government

The American Government operates as a federal system characterized by a constitutional republic where officials are elected by the citizens through a democratic process. This structure is categorized into three distinct branches: the executive, led by the President; the legislative, consisting of the Senate and the House of Representatives; and the judicial, headed by the Supreme Court. These branches work cooperatively following a system of checks and balances to ensure that power is not concentrated in any one area. Fundamental to the American Government is the adherence to the Constitution, the supreme law of the country which guarantees civil rights and liberties.
