Amanda Ragan is an American politician from Iowa, born in 1954, who has been a dedicated member of the Democratic Party. She served as an Iowa State Senator representing the 27th District from 2002 to 2023. During her tenure, she was appointed the Iowa Senate Democratic Whip in 2016. In addition to her legislative work, Ragan has been deeply involved in community service, holding leadership roles as the Executive Director of Meals on Wheels and the Community Kitchen of Northern Iowa. Her educational background includes an Associate's degree from North Iowa Area Community College, a High School Diploma from Rockwell-Swaledale High School, and a Bachelor's degree in Human Services from Buena Vista University.
