Alok Sharma

Alok Sharma is a British Conservative politician who has been serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Reading West since 2010. Born in India and raised in Reading, England, Sharma has also held several important positions in government. He became the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy in 2020, in addition to being appointed as the president for the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference. With a background in banking, Sharma's political career has focused significantly on finance, housing and environment issues. He is known for his pragmatic approach to policy-making and his dedication to driving forward the UK's global efforts to tackle climate change.
