ALESP, short for Assembleia Legislativa do Estado de São Paulo, is the legislative body in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Comprised of 94 deputies elected to four-year terms, it is responsible for the enactment of state laws that serve the general interests of São Paulo’s citizens. This assembly also has the power to analyze state accounts, propose constitutional amendments, and oversee the administration's actions, including the proposals presented by the state governor. Thus, it plays a significant role in the state's political, legislative, and administrative activities.
