Tunç Soyer is a well-known Turkish politician and current Mayor of İzmir, Turkey's third-largest city, a position he has held since April 2019. Prior to his mayoral appointment, he served as the mayor of Seferihisar, a district in İzmir Province, where he implemented numerous sustainable growth and development projects that gained international recognition. As a member of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Soyer is recognized for his innovative approach to public service and commitment to community engagement. He gained his education in political sciences and economics from the University of Ankara and further pursued his postgraduate studies in local governments at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne .
