日本の食品表示の権限を有する政府機関である消費者庁にベジタリアン／ヴィーガン製品のより良い表示を要求し、ベジタリアン／ヴィーガン消費者のニーズを満たすよう、選択肢の欠如についての日本の食品メーカーと提供者間の認識を高めるために、引き続きご支援いただきありがとうございます。 

過去1年間でいくつかの進歩がありましたので、お知らせしたいと思います。

皆さんのお陰で、私たちは6,520筆の署名を集めることができました。

嘆願書とアンケート調査で得たコメントの抜粋は、2019年11月に中央政府の超党派「ベジ議連」の会議にて、消費者庁の代表に届けられました。「ベジ議連」はインバウンドのベジタリアン／ヴィーガン観光客、そしてヴィーガンの消費者のニーズへの意識を高めるなどの解決策に取り組むために立ち上げられました。

また、ヴィーガンたちが製品を選択するのを困難にする食品表示の問題のいくつかを詳細に説明した手紙を消費者庁に向け書きました。

それらを受け取った担当者は、今後の政策を作成する際の参考にするとのことでした。

Thank you for your continued support for the cause of requesting the national governmental agency with authority over food labeling in Japan, the Consumer Affairs Agency (CAA), demand better labeling of vegetarian/vegan products, and raise awareness of the lack of options that fulfill the needs of vegetarian/vegan consumers among food manufacturers and providers in Japan.

There has been some progress in the past year. 

Thanks to you, we’ve reached a total of 6,520 signatures.

The petition and a selection of petition comments were delivered to a representative of the national governmental agency, the Consumer Affairs Agency, at a meeting of the central government’s “Veggy Federation” bipartisan committee of lawmakers in November 2019, which met to address the needs of inbound vegetarian and vegan tourists, and to create solutions such as raising awareness of the needs of vegan consumers.

We also wrote a letter to the agency explaining in detail some of the issues with labeling that make it difficult for vegans to select products.

The contact who has received them will refer to them when creating future political policies.
