Ravi Sohal is the driving force behind the battle to stop the prejudicial and predatory practice of "property licensing" in the City of Brampton and, by extension, in every Ontario municipality.
This Auto-Evict petition resonated with him as having far-reaching positive implications, not only for counteracting the weak arguments behind the municipal licensing "cash grab" programs, but also for improving the overall landscape for housing affordability and availability.
He spent about 50 minutes in this YouTube video discussing with Chris Seepe, the originator of the the Auto-Evict petition regarding the petition's origin, why all Ontarians need it despite the obvious up-front downside to tenants, who's responsible for the housing crisis, why Ontario's RTA (and LTB) are so brutal against housing providers, and particularly how restoring housing provider faith in Ontario's judicial system would lead near-instantly to a substantial increase in rental housing availability and consequent rent rate affordability.
