Revoke the decision to remove this South Trigg Park
I would say the response has been far greater than anticipated, however, I think many of us already knew that there was indeed a groundswell of support for keeping our public park – and now we have proof that at least 2,369 people (at the time of writing) want it to remain for the enjoyment of the entire community!
What happens now?
The petition has been sent to:
- Chairman of the Western Australian Planning Commission - David Caddy
- All members of the WAPC - Statutory Planning Committee
Copies have also been sent to:
- Minister for Transport Planning, and Ports - Rita Saffioti MLA
- Member for Scarborough - Stuart Aubrey MLA
- Federal Minister for Stirling - Vince Connelly MP
- Chairman of Surfing WA - Mike Best
- Mayor Mark Irwin - City of Stirling
- Coastal Ward Councillors Cr Karen Caddy and Cr Felicity Farrelly - City of Stirling
You can also expect to see local media coverage regarding the considerable community objection, as well as all of the anomalies exposed throughout the bureaucratic process surrounding this development.
We very much hope that all of the government agencies involved along with Surfing WA hear our voices and take immediate steps to seek an alternative location for this head office building – one that does not involve the destruction of a public park!
