I hope everyone has had a great start to their week. Rajan would be proud of the work we are putting in and I know he would be doing the same thing for us.

So far we have over 3,000 signatures in the first three days. That’s pretty good but our work has just begun and the battle for Rajans Justice will not be easy. The police are going to put up a fight.

After speaking with the family tonight, the plan is for all of us here to push the Austin District Attorney, Jose Garza to indict officer Daniel Sanchez so that he can face a jury who will ultimately decide if his actions were legal. If the DA decides to do this, it will send a strong message to other police officers about what could happen when you murder someone and that you cannot simply hide behind “qualified immunity”. Daniel Sanchez may face murder charges.

Over the coming weeks this will take a coordinated effort from all of us who have signed this petition and more details on exactly what we are going to need from you are coming very soon, but I can say this - it will involve picking up the phone and making just one phone call. It won’t be hard or take much time, but if we all come together, it will send a message.

In the meantime, please continue to push this petition link to your friends, family, coworkers and anyone you think might consider signing it. The more people we can bring together at this time, the better.

Let’s really focus on bringing this petition to the people we know. If you have not already, make sure to post on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and anywhere else and encourage people to share the link. Don’t be afraid to text your coworkers or even get creative and do some guerrilla marketing to groups in Texas through things like Reddit or other platforms. It’s our time to honor his name and make his family proud. Thank you all again for your support. It really means a lot to me, but more importantly, his family.

I will be in touch soon with the next steps we need to take.

Sincerely

Tripp Sherrod
