Dear supporters

For a long time there was no groundbreaking news to report, but Last Friday the following press release came from the authority for health and consumer protection (BGV):

(. . . ) has withdrawn with immediate effect the permission of LPT (Laboratory of Pharmacology and Toxicology GmbH & Co. KG) to keep animals in Hamburg. After careful examination, the BGV is of the opinion that the operator in Mienenbüttel (Lower Saxony) and Hamburg-Neugraben, is no longer reliable in terms of animal welfare law due to serious violations of the Animal Welfare Act and other violations of documentation and licensing requirements.

(. . . ) Animal husbandry requiring permission at the Redderweg 8 in Hamburg is prohibited with immediate effect. All experimental animals (at the Neugraben site primarily mice and rats) are to be transferred to suitable third parties within three weeks (. . . )

So this is now the second location of the LPT which will be closed! The laboratory in Schleswig Holstein is now the last remaining place of horror, from LPT. But also this one will be hopefully forced to shut down! So let us raise our voices in support of this!

Let's make the LPT a story! Show the lobby how much we can do as a community!
