Update: Petition to Remove Columbus Statue in Waterbury Ct

I started this petition out of shock by the near dismissal of the concerns expressed regarding the statue at Thursday's town hall. In only 38 hours the petition was signed by 500 individuals. We are currently at an astounding 700 signatures.

It is only because of your engagement that change is possible. Every signature matters.

As for an update:

• Earlier today I emailed the Mayor's Chief of Staff and Secretary a full list of signatories asking for a direct response.
• I will be calling the Mayor's office Monday morning to get a response to the petition. If you are able,  please also call and ask if they are listening to the hundreds of voices asking for the statue's removal. Phone: (203) 574-6712
• I have also taken the initiative to contact local media in order to amplify your voices- I am waiting on responses. Many of you have great reasons for signing, please tag and email your own perspectives to local outlets.
